The British Football Academy (BFA) is delighted to announce that we have appointed former South African football international, Daine Klate, as our BFA Ambassador.

Daine had a highly decorated career at the very highest level in the Premier Soccer League, and won many trophies playing for – amongst other teams – Orlando Pirates and SuperSport United.  He also represented the South African national team on 14 occasions.

Daine will be combining his new role as the BFA’s South African Ambassador with his recent appointment as head coach for Motsepe Foundation Championship team, La Masia.

Commenting on his appointment, Ian Kilbride, Co-Founder of the BFA, said:

“It’s wonderful to have Daine join the BFA as our Ambassador and we warmly welcome him to our team.  He is an eloquent and highly respected advocate for football, and also a hugely innovative and forward-thinking coach.  Daine will be an invaluable addition to our coaching team, and our first crop of academy scholars will benefit enormously from being coached by him.  Daine will work closely with Siya Mnganga, the BFA’s Coaching Director and our other coaches.  This is another very positive step forward in the establishment of the BFA as a major centre of talent development in South Africa”.
